happy dashain

dashain. time for get togethers, good food, a little gambling, and lots of drinking. i'm sure we all had fun in our own little ways.
but back home, some are voicing their concerns about the "slaughtering of animals to appease the gods."

this was the name shailendra, carlo and i came up with for a videoblog that we wanted to start. that project never really took off so i thought i'd get it started here with some video clips of what we've done-together and individually.

i just started another blog. i intend to post some copywriting stuff that i have done. hope you enjoy them.

Rendition

after a long time, i finally made it to the theatre to watch rendition with jake gyllenhal, reese witherspoon and meryl streep.
while there were a few things i liked about the film (they would be spoilers if i mentioned them here), i wasn't completely satisfied. there were some things that stood out like a sore thumb-some of the dialogue was flat, it took me almost half the movie to be really involved, and then there wasn't enough drama to make some story threads compelling.
and then the ending--i thought it was just too convinient (sp?).
You can wait for the DVD.

amtrak

my first time on the amtrak...and i have to say that i was impressed.
except for the time factor, there was nothing else to complain about. p l e n t y of leg room...
overall, very good...and they stopped for smoke breaks!!

californication

so as a rule i stay away from watching any tv...c'mon i need the time to write(ahem!)...but lately, i have to admit, i have been watching more than i should...
but i came across "californication" with david duchovny...and i really like it.
i don't watch any primetime tv so i don't really know about the other shows.

i haven't been in denver more than four months and i think i'm ready to move on...i have no friends here and there's nowhere that i want to go.
coming to think of it, i hadn't really moved to a place where i didn't have any friends.
so if the average lifespan of a nepali man is 60 years (i don't know if this true.i think it is. anyway, i'm just trying to make my point here!) then i would have lived half my life come next april.wow!

a year later...

Wow...it's been almost a year since i last blogged..and a lot has happened. The major thing would be my move from LA to Denver, CO...yes...i moved away from LA!!
Of course, i miss it. with all that blonde hair and fake boobs, i felt right at home!!
But here's to a new place, a new phase...and to a new strategy...hopefully it works.
